I have a friend who is having a problem with pigeons being on the porch. Is there anything she can do to repel them? Hang CDs? Is there a certain color that repels them?

Change your method of feeding the dog. If you have to feed it outside, then get a feeder that only drops the feed into the tray at a certain time of day so that there is no extra left over.

CD's will only work for about a day or so, if that.

I have alot of allergies because of the pigeons and my daughter has frecuent asma attacks. Ive tried several things but nothing seems to work. Can someone help me with this. Please?

My brother had the same problem, the only thing that ended up working for him was a fake owl, which was weird for me I didn't think it would scare away pigeons! and here's a website with other ideas!

I have recently become the host to unwanted and uninvited pigeons on the balcony of my 11th story condo. Someone in the building has been feeding them and now they are appearing on my balcony. This didn't happen in the two years that I have lived here. And of course they leave behind gifts that are unwanted and perhaps unhealthy. What can I do to keep these uninvited guests from appearing?

Get one of those plastic owls that they sell in garden centers. You can even get some models that make owl hoots. Scares pigeons away. Good Luck!!! Nasty creatures!

Our neighbours are fond of throwing their left over food on the back lane feeding the pigeons. Daytime such food attracts not only pigeons but crows and sparrows as well. Worst still the remains would attract rats and stray animals like cats or dogs at night. Any good suggestion from you? Have spoken to these neighbours and they told me not to mind their business.

You can try getting an owl decoy or statue. These can be found at farm stores or sometimes at sporting goods stores that sell hunting supplies.
Try to get the one with a moving head if possible.
Of course you will have to move the statue every day or two. Otherwise the pigeons will figure out that its not a real bird.

My pigeon coup has an inside part and an outside part. One pigeon will not let the other pigeons inside of the coup and they have to stay outside and freeze. Also, the mean one is VERY hard to catch. Is there some way to make him more tame? He really is the only problem in our coup, the others let us pick them up. Any ideas to make him more friendly and not such a jerk?

He sounds like a cock that's taken over everything and thinks it's his due. I'd bet he's older than some of the other birds or was there first. Take him out for a while. Make sure there isn't just one long perch, but rather have perches that are broken at sections (maybe a foot or so) apart so that he can only claim one at a time, If he was there first and if he's mated up, he will think the whole thing is his area and will defend it. You might want to remove him for a while and let the others have time to claim part of the loft for themselves.

Every year when I place my A/C in my window the pigeons seem to love to roost next to it. Then the leaves and tiny feathers get kicked into the accordion part and then onto the inner sill. Is there something I can place next to the A/C on the outside to keep them from landing??? Thanks!

They make these plastic spike looking things that people use on window sills and on roofs to keep them out. Try that. The pigeons have found my garden. I can no longer put out food as they stop all other birds from getting to feeders and also eat all food out for ground feeders.

In my part of the country, we use high powered pellet guns. We get rid of the pests and have a good time while at it.

I heard an odd sound yesterday and I noticed a pigeon's nest on our roof (which I think had a baby in it, a larger baby but still a baby.) It is high up and has made a real mess of our roof under the eaves. I don't want to kill or injure the birds, but I want them off of our roof so they do not continue to make a mess of things up there. I'm worried about damage to our house. We live out in the country so I'm not exactly sure where these pigeons came from. I don't mind waiting till the bird is old enough to be on it's own, which looking at the baby bird, it doesn't look like it will be too long.

Put an owl decoy up after they leave, should solve that problem.
Owls love pigeons.

Pigeons are making a huge mess outside of my home and it's unsanitary,how can I get the pigeons to leave and return?

There are these roosting strips you can buy at the hardware store. They use them on the billboards in LA to discourage the pigeons from landing on the tops and messing up the signs. They are strips of metal with metal dowels sticking up that you screw into the area you don't want them roosting. I had this problem at my rentals and used twirly-bops (the kind you see in gardens that are like pinwheels on a stick) to get rid of the pigeons. Looked really funny, but it worked. We stapled some along the facia where they were pooping down the side of the building. And, we put some on wooden sticks attaching them sideways to the toilet vent pipes. After about 3 months they stopped roosting up there permanently and we felt safe enough to take them down.

I have this house and I have pigeons flying everywhere and laying eggs on the roof. Sometimes the eggs will roll off and land and crack on the ground. I had a Owle on the roof but the head is now missing icon surprised How do you get rid of pigeons around the house? (. I got pigeon poop on my sidewalk and can't sit outside because of them. Is there anyone out there that might have some cleaver and inexpensive way of getting rid of them?

LOL ... a cleaver (as in an axe) sounds one way! I guess that it's a neighborhood problem, though. I have heard that a model of a hawk suspended from a wire will scare them off. You might need to string a wire between two tall trees, or something (or a tall pole like a TV arial, maybe). Your 'hawk' should move in the wind, though.

Maybe a model hawk/eagle on the roof instead of an owl would work ... but I think they get used to a fixed thing - it should move.
