Then the leaves and tiny feathers get kicked into the accordion part and then onto the inner sill. Is there something I can place next to the A/C on the outside to keep them from landing??? Thanks!

They make these plastic spike looking things that people use on window sills and on roofs to keep them out. Try that. In my part of the country, we use high powered pellet guns. We get rid of the pests and have a good time while at it.

It is high up and has made a real mess of our roof under the eaves. I don't want to kill or injure the birds, but I want them off of our roof so they do not continue to make a mess of things up there. I'm worried about damage to our house. We live out in the country so I'm not exactly sure where these pigeons came from. I don't mind waiting till the bird is old enough to be on it's own, which looking at the baby bird, it doesn't look like it will be too long.

Put an owl decoy up after they leave, should solve that problem.
Owls love pigeons.

There are these roosting strips you can buy at the hardware store. They use them on the billboards in LA to discourage the pigeons from landing on the tops and messing up the signs. They are strips of metal with metal dowels sticking up that you screw into the area you don't want them roosting. I had this problem at my rentals and used twirly-bops (the kind you see in gardens that are like pinwheels on a stick) to get rid of the pigeons. Looked really funny, but it worked. We stapled some along the facia where they were pooping down the side of the building. And, we put some on wooden sticks attaching them sideways to the toilet vent pipes. After about 3 months they stopped roosting up there permanently and we felt safe enough to take them down.

LOL ... a cleaver (as in an axe) sounds one way! I guess that it's a neighborhood problem, though. I have heard that a model of a hawk suspended from a wire will scare them off. You might need to string a wire between two tall trees, or something (or a tall pole like a TV arial, maybe). Your 'hawk' should move in the wind, though.

Maybe a model hawk/eagle on the roof instead of an owl would work ... but I think they get used to a fixed thing - it should move.

My mother and her neighbor have done absolutely nothing to attract these pests! They just showed up and seem to be attracting more and more pigeons! PLEASE help!

Have the birds been able to get into the attic or into some other sheltered area for nesting. They like to roost in a covered location like lofts, steeples, vents, and under eaves. They shelter like this to avoid owls and falcons that hunt pigeons on wing from overhead. If you can find where they are roosting at night you can put wire mesh up blocking access until they leave. Or drape an area with bird netting whatever seems easiest to block the birds.
To get them off the roof is harder. If they nest elswhere but come in they must be foraging for food nearby. Try using Bird Proof to repel them. Meanwhile see if you can find where they are foraging for grain or seeds. Removing their food source will drive them away also.

When I lived in Houston, I had occasion to be at the Federal Courthouse and noticed rubber snakes in the ledges of the windows of the building. When asking someone why, I was told that pigeons were a tremendous problem and that they had placed them there for years as a deterent. I tried this on one side of our house at one time when a male bird kept attacking his reflection in the window and it seemed to work pretty good. He kept his distance and just flapped and squawked at himself then finally left it alone.

Go along to your local garden centre and buy a couple of owls - ceramic, stone or whatever. Put them in your garden in prominent places to scare away the pigeons.

I've thought about asking my neighbor to move the nest to their back porch - will the pigeons find the nest if it is moved?

If the pigeons are actually attacking you, they have young in the nest. They won't actually hurt you, you know.
Talk to the neighbors and ask if, after the chicks are fledged, they will remove the nest and fix it so the pigeons can't nest in that spot again.
Meanwhile, enjoy watching the birds; they will fledge soon enough.
I had a pigeon and a dove that produced a chick; the mother, the dove, died and the father pigeon had to finish raising his son alone; the affection he had for his son was really entertaining.

Pigeons deserve to be fed just like the other birds, they don't aim to scare the smaller birds, they would not harm them.

I think if you try putting seed on a tray on the ground you'll find the pigeon prefer eating from there opposed to the feeders, if you slowly move this away from the feeders say 1m a day then the smaller birds are free to eat with no fear and the pigeons are still getting fed.
