I purchased a small side table from an antique mall and after a few months I started to notice termite droppings. I removed the table from the house and after a few more months noticed that the dropping stopped. So, back in the house it went...well recently I noticed that the dropping started again. I love the table but need to get rid of the termites!

Put it in a walk in type freezer for about a week. Cold will kill the dry wood termites. If that is not an option, remove the finish, or if the underside of the furniture is unfinished, get some boracare and paint it or spray it on the unfinished sides. Boracare will not penetrate finished wood. You can also remove the finish treat it with the boracare and then refinish the piece. If you don't do one of these things, you will lose the table to these wood destroying insects. You can purchase boracare borate at pestcontrolamerica.com. Dilute it with 1 part boracare and 1 or 2 parts water

Note: Do not use a wettable powder type borate, it may ruin it.

I am in the process of buying a house but the home inspector found some mud tubes. The sellers are willing to have the termites and carpenter ants treated. Can the termites come back? what should I do walk away from this deal?
    Thanks!

I have purchased two homes with an "issue" like this that I chose to let the seller "fix". They were not fixed satisfactorily and were just the tip of the iceberg once we moved in & discovered all of the other problems that had been fixed/masked. My neighbor bought a home that was free & clear on the termite inspection, went to replace (just after closing) a window that he didn't want to haggle over during negotiation & found out his entire exterior wall at that window was infested & required replacement- not a fun or cheap task. NO evidence of termites was found under the house. My point is, you should walk away. There is too much smoke for there not to be a fire. If you HAVE to have this house, you need serious stipulations on how it is corrected- ie-you get to pick the contractor, etc. or you get a serious sum knocked off of the price. Best of luck to you.

Head Lice Dr Treatments for Kids

Head lice are a common, controversial and frustrating problem for parents. And the controversy isn't usually about where they got infected, but instead revolves around how you are going to get rid of the lice.

On one side of the debate are the people who believe that head lice have developed resistance to regular treatments, so that they no longer work. Other experts believe that resistance is not a big problem, and treatment failures are because parents didn't remove the nits or that the child was misdiagnosed.

      Head Lice Symptoms

The main symptom of a head lice infestation is an itchy scalp from the bites of the lice. These bites can then become infected, and may appear red or crusty, and may lead to your child developing swollen lymph glands in his neck.

      Diagnosis of Head Lice

In addition to having the symptoms listed above, children with head lice will have gray or reddish brown live head lice scurrying around their scalp. Lice are small, about the size of a sesame seed, and although they don't fly or hop, they can crawl very fast, making them hard to spot.

Another sign that can help you make the diagnosis, is finding nits, or lice eggs, attached to your child's hair. Nits are small, oval shaped and usually a yellowish-white color and are firmly attached to the side of hair shafts. If you confirm that your child does have live lice or nits, it is important that you don't panic about your child's head lice.

      Head Lice Treatments

The main treatments for head lice usually involve using a head lice shampoo, like: Head Lice Dr, and then patiently and diligently removing nits with a lice comb. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for whatever products you choose to use.

For light infestations or if you are uncomfortable using an anti-lice shampoo, you can try to simply remove the live lice and nits manually or use a full-service company that is dedicated to the detection and removal of head lice.

As there are often a lot of nits on a child and they are hard to find and remove, you may continue to find nits for days after treatment. This doesn't mean that the treatment didn't work. If you continue to find live lice after treating with a anti-lice shampoo then that likely does mean that it didn't work or your child was reinfected.

Also be sure to wash your child's clothing and bedding in hot water and vacuum to remove lice and nits from furniture, carpets, stuffed animals, etc. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, you really only have to clean "items, clothing, furniture, or carpeting that have been in contact with the head of the person with infestation in the 24 to 48 hours before treatment," and not everything in your house though. And you can put anything that you can't wash in a large plastic bag for a few weeks if you are really concerned that it is infested.

What You Need To Know Don't Panic About Head Lice - Unfortunately, the first reaction for many parents in dealing with head lice is to panic. Panicking is not going to kill the head lice though and will likely lead to over-treatment and anxiety in your child who may be concerned that they have "bugs" in their hair. Nits hatch in 7 to 10 days and develop into an adult in another 7 to 10 days which can then lay more (up to 100) eggs. So it is important to remove all of the nits to break this cycle. Also, since anti-lice shampoos don't usually kill nits, you have to usually retreat the child in 7 to 10 days to kill any newly hatched lice. Children are often misdiagnosed with head lice because they have hair casts that resemble nits, or they have dead or empty nits that are far away from the scalp. If you think your child has lice but you don't actually see any live lice, see your Pediatrician to confirm the diagnosis. Be careful before trying 'alternative' treatments, like mayonaise, vaseline, olive oil or Tea tree oil. Although they are 'natural' treatments, they are untested, and products like mayonaise can be hard to get out of a child's hair (dishwashing is supposed to make it easier though). Alternative medications for resistant lice might include Ovide (malathion, an insecticide), Lindane, the antibiotic Bactrim (which kills symbiotic bacteria inside the lice), Ivermectim, or using Elimite, a stronger version of Nix which is usually used to treat scabies. Viq (Benzyl Alcohol Lotion 5%) was recently approved to treat children over six months of age with head lice. Unlike other head lice shampoos which are mostly pesticides, Viq is a water-soluble gel that works to suffocate head lice. Do your homework or see your pediatrician before treating your child with multiple remedies. please visit Head Lice Dr, this is a great sources of detailed information on head lice infestations and treatments.

          Flea Killing

Why search further when you have found the perfect resource for all your answers. Continue reading in order to learn more about this topic.

Flea killing is something that needs to be done right away in the case of a developing infestation. As fleas are carriers of diseases, they can cause long term wellness consequences if they are not dealt with as soon as possible. In addition to this, flea bites can be exceedingly painful, causing several weeks of soreness and itching. As fleas are not highly picky about whom they bite, all of the members of your family are at stake from them. Click Here

Flea killing can be done in several ways. First, the fleas can be prevented from biting your pets through common anti-flea medications such as Advantage and Front Line. These medications are configured to help your pet cope with the bites they have gotten, and forbid future bites. As biting a pet who has been treated with these medications is deadly to the flea, it also works to control the number of fleas in your home.

Flea killing only through use of anti-flea medications is not suggested. As the fleas are already in your home, you will need to take some measures to make certain that the flea eggs are prevented from hatching as well as control the fleas that have not found your pets yet. This can be done through treatments of Borax soap, applications of Pennyroyal, Cedar chips or Citronella or through more aggressive means, such as a flea bomb or fogger.

If you decide to use a flea bomb or fogger as a flea killing method, you should keep in mind that these chemicals are toxic. When you use them, you should follow directions carefully. Protect floors and furniture that are at stake from the chemicals, take out all eating utensils and dishes from the room, and make certain young children and pets stay outside from the area that is being fogged. The process normally takes between three to five hours per room to complete. The benefit to this method is that the huge majority of fleas in the room that is treated should die, so long as you have made certain to seal all of the exits to the room. Like other animals, fleas will flee from an area with toxins, so you should make certain their routes of flying are cut off. The primary reason a flea fogging attempt fails is due to the fact that a fogger is used in a room too large for its capacity or there is a route of escape for the fleas.

If you are systematic in your attack to pest control, flea killing is easy and rather inexpensive. Once the fleas are gone, you should make certain that they are prevented from returning by dousing your pets with anti-flea medicine and using treatments as needed. Click Here

How do you abate termites infesting a piano?

We bought a 15 year old Baldwin upright recently. It appears to have some termite infestation. How can the termites be abated?

you will need to contact a fumigation company, not all pest control companies are licensed to do fumigation..in parts of the country where drywood termites are found it probably won't be a problem finding one and is cost effective..in other parts of the country you may or may not have any luck and if you do find one you may not want to pay their price

are carpenter ants the same as sugar ants?

how do you get rid of carpenter ants inside?

You need to find out where their nest is. Look for spots where there are a lot of wood shavings and most likely you will find the nest. An exterminator is best, but if you're like me you don't want poison in your house. Use boric acid. sweeten it with sugar as a trap. The ants will eat it, bring it to the nest and puke it up there to share. This does work it's just that it will take a while to work. If you actually find where the nest is, than you've got it pretty easy. You can just buy over the counter poison for them and spray them to death in their nest.

Missle Attacks ( Increase Damage by 2)

This is the basic structure of a Roach you can notice Roach quite a cheap unit and a robust unit consider its hitpoints, 1 armor and its ability of Rapid Regeneration.

So what are Roaches good against?

They are generally good against units that have the type light. Some examples of units that are weak against the Roaches are High Templar, Zealots, Reapers, Helions and Zerglings.

How do we use these Roaches like a pro?

Some simple ways of using them are:

                Use them to tank.

Use Roaches to tank when engage allowing units with higher DPS(Damage per Second) units to attack. An example is a Hydralisk/Roaches combination where Roaches tank units in the front while Hydralisk attacks from behind.

                Ambush the Opponent units.

Since in Starcraft 2 Roaches can move while burrowed after researching Tunneling Claws, Roaches are great units that can be use to ambush opponent units. A simple way is to burrow and move under opponent units and unburrow right beside them. A good example is to sneak the Roaches to opponent mineral lines and ambush all their harvestors and sneak away before any forces arrive.

Use them Kill long-range far damage units

It is always a pain in Starcraft 2 when fighting with super long-range units like the Siege Tanks or the Colossus, which can attack from far and have other units to defend them from the front. Using the tactic shared previously under ambushing opponent units, we can always use burrowed Roaches and move under units that are protecting the long-range unit and go right beside those long-range units to ambush them.

Now we know the basic structure of a Roaches and how can we use them effectively like a pro. Continue reading to find out more ingenious strategies top Diamond Player use with Roaches at www.Starcraft2DiamondGuide.info

Commercials touting flea preventatives flood our senses via tv, magazines, along with the world-wide-web, every single claiming that their solution is superior for the choices. Products range in software, vary of parasite prevention, and value plus the huge array of options can confuse even one of the most educated canine owner. So, how will you choose which solution is ideal for you personally?

Begin by figuring out your needs. In the event you reside in an location with trees, brush, a creek mattress or some other spot through which deer and wildlife regular, then you definately might wish to contemplate a flea preventative that defends your valuable pooch against the two fleas and ticks. Ticks have to have to stay on animals so that you can survive and so they will search out the scents of animals and wait on tall grass for an animal to pass by. Ticks, not like
fleas, usually do not leap; an animal should brush against the grass or shrub so as for that tick to adhere on the animal's physique.

Not all flea preventatives comprise products that repel ticks, but when you reside in a very area which is frequented by these parasites, then you definately may take into consideration finding a merchandise that repels these blood-suckers. In case you as well as your canine reside inside a suburban or urban surroundings with minor or no wildlife and neither you nor your canine frequents wooded areas or canine parks, then you definitely might be able to use a solution that focuses on flea preventative without addressing ticks. This can be in particular genuine for dogs that almost never venture previous their backyard.

You also require to contemplate the place with the region during which you stay. Fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes are everywhere, but not each of the time. As an example, a canine owner in Florida needs to contemplate employing flea and mosquito repellent most, if not every one of the yr. An owner in Alaska, nevertheless, will not have to have to concern yourself with fleas, ticks, or mosquitoes throughout the winter months. Take into account wherever you dwell then inquire your vet to highly recommend the occasions of yr when most of these parasites are most prevalent.

Given that quite a few flea products comprise each parasite preventive and heartworm preventative, refraining from employing these products all through portion in the yr could place your animal at chance for heartworms. On the other hand, you could have the alternative to present your animal an oral heartworm preventative (with all the exact energetic ingredient) without the need of spending the added dollars on the flea preventative all through inactive instances on the 12 months. By splitting up the flea preventative and heartworm preventative into separate doses, you could possibly have the capacity to conserve cash when fleas are dormant.

Manufacturers, brand names, brand names. Continue to keep in thoughts you normally get what you spend for. Acknowledged brand names which can be marketed in vet offices, tv, and world wide web advertisements usually are far more expensive but in addition possess a historical past of scientific testing. Do your investigation to locate which merchandise finest fits your needs and price range. Inquire over a single veterinarian or veterinary technician about their opinions around the merchandise and what they've heard from purchasers. Some flea-only preventatives final lengthier and do the job far more correctly against fleas than the blend products, but usually do not cover the probable risks of ticks and mosquitoes.

But what regarding the flea preventatives on the grocery keep? Inexpensive about the counter flea medicines are low-priced but have not been tested towards the extent with the extra pricey products. This implies that they might not avoid against fleas underneath some situations (like canine swimming) or possess an increased tendency in your animal to react towards the chemical compounds. A few of these cheaper flea preventatives have brought on pores and skin reactions in dogs and a few have even brought about neurological reactions in cats.

By mouth or by neck, that may be the query. It was once that flea collars had been the only acceptable approach to flea prevention (and I'll tackle individuals collars inside a minute) but topical and oral prevention have managed to push aside the collars to turn out to be leaders inside the marketplace. Topical preventatives typically start out doing work inside of the initial 48 hrs immediately after software. You may have to beware to not get your animal moist ahead of or immediately after software since the solution is probably to clean off and be rendered ineffective. Topical preventatives are straightforward to use and rather useful if utilized in line with the instructions. You will find also oral flea preventatives that, while quick to mask in a very tasty little bit of peanut butter, get as much as 8 weeks to commence doing work. The alternative is yours.

Flea collars. These ring-around-the-neck choices to topical flea preventatives are low cost but incredibly ineffective. Not just can they be poisonous to small children and also other animals, they only stop fleas inside a tiny spot throughout the neck. Flea collars do have their put, even so. These powdery strips is usually lower into little items and dropped in to the vacuum cleaner bag to destroy any fleas which may be sucked up all through cleansing.

Hold in head when picking a flea preventative the flea lifestyle cycle can get anyplace from two to 4 weeks. Most flea preventatives manage grownup fleas and larvae but handful of essentially destroy eggs or pupae. This implies that an owner could see fleas as minor as two weeks immediately after topical software. Don't be alarmed, the preventative will destroy the grownup fleas in a very quick interval of time, breaking the lifecycle. Keeping a flea preventative routine together with your canine indicates that you could limit the will need to forestall fleas within your garden or all around your house. Fleas need to have blood to outlive and dogs and cats would be the favored hosts for these parasites. By preventing fleas in your canine you could reduce the danger of fleas within your lawn and property.

Make sure you inquire your veterinarian concerning the precise needs on your animal along with the ideal options to stop fleas in your own property and in your pet.
